Holiday Gift Guides for literally EVERYONE.
It’s that time of the year! Holiday season is upon us, and it’s time to start thinking about how you can show the people in your life the love and gratitude you have for them. While I’m not the most shopping obsessed of people, I have always actually loved getting gifts (and always writing cards!) for people. It’s a little chance to not only show that you cared enough to get them a little something, but showing your relationship with them and how well you know them.
While there are most definitely plenty of great ways to show your love and care with non-material goods, nearly all of us end up needing to get some holiday gifts for all the different people in our lives. You don’t want to show up empty-handed to holiday festivities and peoples homes— there are quite a few socially obligatory scenarios in which you’d want a gift in tow.
SO. I curated these guides for you guys to help you get gifts for all the people that tend to be the most difficult to shop for!
I tried to include a variety of prices (and I listed them all!) and some low + higher end options of several items to fit a somewhat reasonable range of needs. It is also Black Friday / Cyber Week just around the corner, so it really is the ideal time to shop! Most of the places I curated these guides from are participating in some sort of deals— AND I LISTED A CHEAT SHEET RIGHT HERE below.
TIP: it’s even more creative when you combine some smaller gifts into a special combination for a bigger, more thoughtful gift (like a coffee bean subscription WITH a pourover, or tea lights, bath salts, and massage oils to go WITH a book), rather than just jumping for an expensive item and calling it a day.
Black Friday / Cyber Week Deals
MADEWELL— Extra 25% off with code DEALWITHIT through 25th
WEST ELM— code SAVE MORE for up to 30% + free shipping
SUR LA TABLE— up to 75% off
ALO YOGA— 30% off all
NORDSTROM— up to 60%
REFORMATION— 30% off all
Yep. It’s that awkward phase where you’re past the swiping and casual hookup, but you’re not quite serious yet, so it’s kinda awkward to get a nice gift but it’s even more awkward to get nothing at all. Welcome to dating in 2018 😂Luckily, there are a bunch of low-key options that say “thoughtful enough” but not “you my wifey / hubby,” and I put them below to save you:
Tickets to anything: Honestly, my main vote, especially for the people that tend to value experiences > goodies. Go see a cool independent movie, take your person ice skating, a comedy show, a local live band, concert, wine tasting, a cooking class, etc. Make memories, keep the cost reasonable, and don’t be afraid to get in the cheesy holiday spirit and skip being too cool for school.
Fujifilm Instax Mini 9 Camera ($69)
Perfect way to capture adventures without having phones out + instant mementos
Goop Martini Bath Soak ($35)

Another confusing person to get gifts for— buying gifts for your parents is hard enough as it is, but what about in-laws or significant others parents or other important adults in your life?? I actually found so many good gifts that I had to create two mini guides for it! Here are the more accessible price points in this first guide, and then the more luxe items are in the guide below:

Cute little gift for those parents that just love to host people at their homes— I’ve gotten so many cute coasters for people, and they’re always an appreciated gift!

Pancake + Syrup Set ($45.95)
Okay, this might seem very fruit basket-like, but I promise if there is thought behind this, it’s a cute gift! Some families love their weekend morning traditions of making pancakes at home, so it’s the perfect way to hand them a fancy little breakfast on a platter from afar! Also this maple syrup > $10 jugs at TJ’s.

d
Saje Aroma Breeze Merlot Matte Diffuser ($79.95)
Introducing people to the magic of essential oils is one of my favorite things to do because it is both a powerful thing for your health + mind, it’s just purely pleasant and a forever homey gift as opposed to just candles (Saje has a lifetime warranty on diffusers!).

One of hell of a gift, but honestly a Vitamix is the ONE fancy kitchen appliance that I actually think is well worth the investment. The fact that you can make literally everything in this machine… and it makes healthy cooking so much easier for those married to their old lifestyle parents, like we know how some parents can be!
Oh dear, what to get for that special person in your life?? Hopefully you’ve paid attention to clues or random mentions they’ve dropped of things they’re eyeing for themselves, but if you didn’t, all these gifts are extremely practical or just guaranteed to make someone smile.

Ariel Gordon Dual Birthstone Ring ($295)

I never would have thought to get them for myself, but I got it as a gift and used them alllllll the time til I dropped them and broke them…

All those helpful people in your life that make your life easier and better— it’s hard to know what to get for them because sometimes you don’t know their personal lives outside of the context of how you know them. But the good thing for you in this situation is, is that these people who have chosen helping professions usually are all people that are usually bad at treating themselves to nice little luxury items and the like 🤣, so this is the perfect opportunity to!
Driftaway Coffee Subscription (starts at $39 for 3 months)
Most of these professions are also early birds, and they likely drink coffee (or they superwo/man)— this is such a treat to not have to worry about getting beans, and getting gourmet ones at that. Sure beats Starbucks.

Aesop Hand Wash ($60 for 18 oz)
An item I can’t manage to bring myself to buy because it is so expensive for soap, but I got this as a gift from one of my training clients one year and I literally got happy every single time I used it. Saje Kitchen Party Cleanup Kit ($24.95)
